Chris F Clark

b 1972 Northumberland, UK

Margate artist Chris F Clark uses drawing, painting and collage to produce works that explore the daily struggles of human existence.

Layers of bold colour and repetitive mark-making are interwoven with hand drawn figures and jagged text, which are playfully assembled, allowing the viewer to interpret the works metaphorically or literally.

Common themes of direction, confusion, loss, and connection are brought to life with an uplifting energy that pops and fizzes,  implying victory and strength.  Juggling the complex and serious with her poetic humour and wit, chris's work challenges our perception of  how we do (or often don't) see the world or orientate ourselves, encouraging us to believe that we can all win out, if we want to, in this thing called life.  Even when things get muddy.

So - spend time with the work and take what you want and need from it, your interpretation counts!
